A comforter, a quilt (razai) and a dohar all get called "blanket" in everyday conversation, but they're genuinely different products, and buying the wrong one for your room is a common complaint. Here's what a comforter actually is, what size to buy, and what GSM means on the label.
The length (90 inches) stays the same across both — it's the width that changes to match a single or double mattress. Check your mattress width, not just whether your bed is "called" single or double, the same mismatch bedsheets run into.

GSM (grams per square metre) measures how much filling is packed into the comforter — roughly, how warm and plush it feels. Our microfibre comforters run 110-200 GSM, light enough for most of the year across Indian homes without needing a separate heavy winter razai on top.
Every comforter we stock is reversible - a different print or colourway on each side, so one comforter effectively gives you two bedroom looks depending on which side you flip up.
A comforter is filled and stitched in a single piece for everyday use across most of the year. A quilt (razai) is typically heavier and cotton-filled, meant for genuinely cold winter nights. A dohar sits at the lighter end - closer to a thick bedsheet than a filled blanket, meant for AC rooms or a mild summer night. See our Blanket & Quilt Guide for picking the right warmth level for your winter.
Gentle machine wash in cold water with a mild detergent, no bleach, and line dry in shade - high heat and direct sun both wear down the microfibre filling and fade the print faster.
100% polyester microfibre, reversible, in Single Bed (90 x 50 inches) and Double Bed (90 x 72 inches) sizes.
