About Towels
Pick a towel by what you need it for. A bath towel (75 x 150 cm, 450 GSM cotton terry) is thick and soft for drying off after a bath. A Madrasi towel (30 x 60 inches, woven cotton) is thin, light and dries very fast – ideal for daily use in humid weather, travel and the gym. Microfibre towels are for cleaning glass and surfaces, not for drying yourself.
GSM is a towel's weight per square metre: a higher GSM terry towel feels plusher and holds more water but takes longer to dry, while a light woven Madrasi towel dries in a few hours.
Care: wash new towels separately the first time, use cold water and a mild detergent, skip fabric softener on cotton (it reduces absorbency) and dry completely before folding.
